Would you consider adding Mission Santa Maria to your Christmas list? Our goal is to raise $150,000 by January 1st to meet the growing needs of the children in our programs. During this season, here is what we need most to continue to best serve them. Thank you for your generosity!
$40 — A Month of Food for a Family in Crisis
Your gift brings immediate relief to families facing extreme food insecurity, helping fill the gap when families need it most.
$100 — English Learning Materials for a Classroom
Help students advance in the Mission School’s transformative English program, where 80% of students now test at A2 and 15% at B1+, a dramatic shift from 95% testing A0/A1 only four years ago. This gift provides workbooks, speaking materials, and digital tools for one classroom.
$120 — Ballet & Soccer for a Child at the Mission Home
Every child at the Mission Home now participates in ballet or soccer, building confidence, joy, and healthy routines. This gift covers a full year of extracurricular activities for one child.
$200 — Technology Access for Mission School Students $200
With 40 laptops donated and 35 sets of headphones purchased, tech education is expanding. Your gift helps maintain this mobile tech lab, increases IT hours, and opens doors for students who have never touched a computer before.
$300 — One Month of Safe Housing for a Post–High School Student
Support the 6 apartments and transition homes that keep young adults safe as they study or begin work-study programs. Many have no family to return to and your gift gives them a dignified home while they pursue independence.
$500 — A “Scholarship Plus” Package
This gift covers a vulnerable child’s tuition, uniform, school supplies, bus fare, and monthly food provisions for their family—making sure their most essential needs are met so they can learn and grow with confidence.
$1,000 — Restore Safety & Comfort at the Mission Home
Help maintain and repair critical infrastructure, like water systems, broken fans in the tropical heat, or worn-down living spaces. Your gift keeps the Mission Home safe, clean, and livable for the children who depend on it.
$2,500 — Fund Professional Mentoring for our Bridge Program
A 2026 goal is to offer structured professional mentoring for university and work-study students, including help with résumés, interview preparation, and career guidance. Your gift kickstarts this critical effort for 20+ young adults entering competitive job markets.
$5,000 — Support a Social Worker for At-Risk Families
Your gift ensures the role of the Mission School’s social worker, who conducts home visits, needs assessments, manages crises, and ensures students in our scholarship program receive not just tuition but food, uniforms, and transportation through our Scholarship Plus Program.
$10,000 — Expand Opportunities for Women in STEM & Engineering
Support new work-study partnerships like DP World’s refrigeration training program and ESPOL’s mentorship of female students, plus career workshops in mining, engineering, and logistics. This gift opens doors to fields students never imagined possible.
- Tarhelia, our school social worker, ensures that students facing crisis are not left behind — visiting homes, assessing needs, and connecting families to critical support. Your generosity keeps this lifeline in place for the children who need it most.
- With hands-on engineering training, these young women are preparing for careers they once believed were out of reach. Your support opens doors to high-paying fields, and to futures filled with independence and dignity.
- English fluency is unlocking new academic and professional opportunities for our students. Your support provides the workbooks, lesson materials, and digital tools that make their progress possible.
- Every child deserves a chance to play. Your generosity makes activities possible that nurture self-esteem and belonging for the children who call the Mission Home their safe haven.
