Maria Belén Starts School This Week

Last week, we launched our Back-to-School Campaign with a goal of ensuring every student begins the year ready to learn. Thanks to this community, we’ve already raised $14,000 toward our $60,000 goal, a meaningful start that is already making an impact.

At Santa María del Fiat, elementary, middle, and high school students returned to class last week. This week, 120 preschool students will follow.

Maria Belén is one of them.

After her mother was unable to provide stable care due to teen pregnancy, Maria Belén recently entered Esperanza Home. She now lives in the baby house along with 3 other toddlers. At three years old, she receives specialized care from the missionaries due to many medical needs. This year, she takes an important step forward as she enters PreK, otherwise known as Inicial 3, starting her journey in the classroom.

Because of your generosity Maria Belén will arrive with what every child deserves: a uniform, school supplies, and a safe and nurturing place to learn.

These are costs we must cover before the school year can even begin. Right now, we are working to meet these upfront needs for every child in our care.

Will you help a student like Maria Belén start the year strong? Support our campaign here.
