Progress and Success of Our Graduates
Currently, five of our Mission School graduates are in the second year of the DP World Shipping work-study program. The young adults are completing a degree in engineering from one of the best public universities in Ecuador, while practicing their skills working at major shipping ports. These dedicated individuals are set to graduate at the beginning of 2025. Their journey so far has been a testament to the transformative power of combining academic knowledge with hands-on experience. The program has allowed them to gain invaluable insights into the logistics and shipping industry, developing both professionally and personally.

Preparing the Next Generation
As we celebrate the achievements of our current participants, we are equally excited about preparing the next group of graduates to join the program. This year, we have twelve eager candidates who are undergoing rigorous preparation to ensure they are ready for the challenges and opportunities ahead. Their preparation includes classes in math and English, essential skills that form the foundation for their future roles in the program. The students will take a comprehensive exam at the end of this month to determine who will ultimately enroll in the program.
Moreover, these candidates are benefiting from the guidance and support of past University Program scholarship recipients. Rolando graduated with an accounting degree in 2020 and has been teaching complex math classes to the candidates. This mentorship is fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment, helping candidates build confidence and competence.

A Look at the Program
For those unfamiliar with the program, our partnership with DP World Shipping provides students with a unique blend of academic coursework and practical work experience. Participants spend part of their time in the classroom, where they enhance their academic skills, and part of their time at DP World Shipping, where they apply what they’ve learned in a real-world setting. This dual approach ensures that graduates are not only academically proficient but also industry-ready.
